Ch 14 and the Kiosk

This chapter highlighted the one user Kiosk interface and its use in Museums. This technology has come up over and over again throughout this class. The one on one interface is a great test for the ability of a program or access point to guide its user through a portal of learning.
This chapter gives us the nuts and bolts of the scripting and layout and process that gives us the plan of action for making the kiosk interface a reality. The scripting portion of this chapter was the most helpful for me considering its thoroughness and attention to detail. It really gives me the concept in a more tangible and approachable way.

  1. awesome take on the Museum Kiosk Chapter, ryan! what i also like about it is the set of tips given to interactive writers to make sure we actively engage our audience in the first few seconds of the introduction in a kiosk or we lose them... just like that. this must be a daunting task for the writer indeed! though i personally have an aversion towards simulation, i think the production described here is most helpful to those who are interested in that area. =)

  2. Ryan - As always, you made some great points! I felt this to be one of the more interesting chapters. These days I look at kiosks as something to hold my children's attention for hopefully more than a few seconds. It's amazing to think of how much actually goes into them (the kiosks).
